Mineral paper is similar to traditional wood based paper but it is made with calcium carbonate from rocks rather than tree pulp and is considered to be an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional wood based papers. Composed of 80% calcium carbonate bonded together with a small amount of HDPE (plastic), this gives the paper some very unique properties. Tear and water resistant. Will not bleed through even when soaked. Mineral paper is a great surface for almost any media wet or dry and can be ink jet printed (results will vary depending on the printer). It’s bright white vellum like surface allows for crisp lines, saturated colors and just the right amount of absorbency for a wide variety of creative techniques. For water based media or dry media.
