Naples Yellow Deep is an opaque warm yellow ideal for landscapes, still life, and botanical paintings. It has good tinting strength and is useful where bright earthy yellows are required.
Artist’s Notes: Add Naples Yellow Deep to reds and violets to create burnt oranges, rusty reds, and warm browns ideal for landscapes. Combine with Cobalt Aquamarine for vivid spring greens.
Paint Maker’s Notes: The historic pigment known as Naples Yellow is a bright warm yellow with one major caveat – it contains lead. Naples Yellow Deep is a richer shade of the hue, and can be combined with white for a colour close to the original.
