This palette contains a versatile combination of colours chosen by Sarah Simon, The Mint Gardener, that are perfect for capturing a range of subject matter including landscapes, still life, botanicals, and illustration work. Our TMG Gouache ~ 12 contains a warm and cool, modern and traditional colours.
The TMG Gouache ~ 12 Palette contains twelve half pans of our handmade gouache in a hinged metal and enamel palette box.
Gouache is a water-based medium that dries to an opaque, matte finish. Colours can be applied in layers, artists refining and defining their painting as they work. Gouache can be diluted with water and used wet-in-wet applications in the same manner as watercolour, however the chalk content in gouache means it won’t bloom or flow like watercolour paint. Gouache is lightened by adding white and can be layered from dark to light due to its opaque nature. Colours are easily mixed with one another and can be used interchangeably with Stoneground watercolour paint.
