Working in collaboration with Smithsonian, Retro 51 commissioned Native American artists to create unique artwork representing their heritage on two new Smithsonian NMAI Collection Tornados. Each Smithsonian twist-top rollerball pen has the Smithsonian logo engraved on the top ring and sun logo on the top disc. A serial number is engraved as well on the top ring and each pen is packaged in a matching commemorative tube
James Peter Johnson is an award-winning Tlingit artist and carver, born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. His design portrays the traditional Tlingit origin story of a Raven bringing light into the world.
