Italian Yellow Earth is a semi-transparent deep golden yellow with good tinting strength, medium grained that makes beige half tints. Our yellow earth is quarries in Northern Italy. This color is based on the natural mineral goethite associated with varying proportions of other minerals, such as clay, chalk and quartz. They differ from red ochers in that they contain water. In other words, the iron to which they owe their color is Iron oxide hydroxide. Our natural yellow earth is semi-transparent, absolutely permanent and has fair covering power.
