Note: French-ruled paper, also called Seyès ruling or grands carreaux (large squares), is a 19th century invention - a cross between gridded and ruled, it's primarily used within the French school system to teach uniform handwriting. Additional enthusiasts can be found in the worlds of science, architecture and the arts who admire the extensive structure and possibilities of the framework.
These are French notebooks (made in Belgium) - they're quite obscure, extremely vibrant (the vibrancy of the cover has to be seen to be believed), and there is a feeling of subtle nostalgia. They are the kind of notebook that feels loyal, confident and reassuring.
