Lascaux colors have excellent adhesion on practically any grease-free support. For priming rigid and flexible supports, Lascaux Primer, Gesso and Uni-Primer are recommended. Textured surfaces on supports can be achieved by using Lascaux Modeling Paste A and B or Structura, depending on the desired absorbency and texture.
Through mixtures with the extensive range of Lascaux mediums and gels, the gloss level, viscosity and texture can be modified for any desired technique. Finished works can be protected with Lascaux Transparent Varnishes, regular or UV.
The consistency of Lascaux Artist is designed to offer the maximum number of uses. Undiluted, the gel thickness will allow impastos made with brush or knife to hold their form. Diluted with water, their high color concentration becomes evident, showing vibrancy and purity even in thin washes. When dry, colors become water insoluble and can be easily overpainted in any number of layers, from subtle glazes to heavy impastos. They dry to a hard, yet elastic semi-matte finish.
