This bold metallic magenta red has purple undertones. Magenta dye was developed in the late nineteenth century by European scientists. Early adopters were European armies who adopted the color for uniforms. It was named after an Italian town in Lombardy due where French Troops in magenta uniforms proved to be victorious.
Sold in 8.7 yard/8 meter skeins, its six strands separate easily. Add depth and fine details to your work by varying the number of strands you use.
