Conte crayons are named after the inventor of these sticks, Nicolas-Jacques Conte, a French chemist of the 18th century, in response to a graphite shortage. These sticks are still being made, and are as popular as ever as a medium for drawing. The two-pack selections present the core traditional Conte crayons in Sanguine, Bistre, White and Black.
