This pretty shade of metallic bluey purple can be used as a mid or dark tone in your needlework to add shadow and depth to your work. Mauve dye was created accidentally by a young British scientist who was trying to make a treatment for Malaria. Mauve was popularized in England by Queen Victoria but eschewed by the current queen who won’t allow mauve flowers in her palaces.
Sold in 8.7 yard/8 meter skeins, its six strands separate easily. Add depth and fine details to your work by varying the number of strands you use.
