You might think it’s black at first glance, but just like the deep twilight of the bathypalagic zone where the colossal squid lives, it’s actually just very, very dark. The myriad of strange creatures that inhabit this darkness all fear one animal above all others, the colossal squid. Imagine a predatory leviathan weighing over a thousand pounds, equipped with the largest eyes on earth to find any prey in near blackness, a razor sharp beak the size of a grapefruit, eight arms lined with claws and two tentacles covered with rotating barbed hooks. No wonder this legendary sea monster made our ancestors fear the dark waters. Colossal Squid Dark ink is a little bottle of that fearsome darkness in which the largest and scariest sea-monsters still dwell.
"We hand make all of our inks in our laboratory in Tampa Florida. Our colors are all custom formulated by our resident chemist. We don’t use any plastics or animal products in our inks or our packaging. Everyone at Anderillium is passionate about protecting our oceans and our wildlife, and we choose to use the most sustainable and environmentally friendly materials whenever possible, even if it costs us a bit more.
A big thanks to our friend Kevin Reinert who created the artwork for the Cephalopod Series of inks. If you want to see more of his work, or you’re in Maui and want a tattoo, look him up at TrueTattoos1923 on Instagram or email him at TrueTattoos@gmail.com."
